Okay, so it happens to be 50-something degrees today and sunny so you’re probably not thinking about winter… but you should! It’s November folks and the weather in Vermont is anything but predictable. Why not check out all the great winter accessories that we have to offer now, before the snow flies?!

Well, as much as I hate to admit it, fall is here and winter is right around the corner. I woke up this morning to a thick layer of frost coating my entire yard. But fear not… with the cold comes apple pie, crisp autumn leaves and deliciously cozy jackets and sweaters from The Shoe Horn Boutique!

A few of my favorites you ask?! Well let’s start with Vermont’s own IBEX!

 The women’s Nomad full zip hoody is my personal favorite. Not only do you get a hood and thumb holes at the sleeves (a must for any cold October morning), the best part is the plush, brushed wool interior that seems to hug you when you put the hoody on! Add an asymmetrical zipper and contrast stitching along the edges and you have one sassy yet practical sweater!

Eileen Fisher: One word comes to mind when describing Eileen Fisher jackets… tailoring! Eileen is a genius when it comes to functional, flattering jackets that make you look like a million bucks when you put them on. My favorite this season is a Merino wool motorcycle jacket.

Emu: It’s only our first fall with this company and I’m completely blown away by their gorgeous wool coats full of little details that will put a smile on your face (think funnel necks and leather sashes)! Or if you’ve been looking for the perfect leather jacket I have a feeling you’ll have to look no further!

White+Warren: cashmere, cashmere, cashmere! Yes, it really is a girls best friend. My only warning: there’s no turning back once you put one of these plush sweaters on… get ready to fall in love!

After downtown Montpelier and our basement was flooded in May, our friends and neighbors stepped up to help us out. Now, it’s our turn. This Saturday, we, and lots of other Montpelier businesses are giving back. Shop downtown at Onion River Sports, The Shoe Horn Boutique or Onion River Kids and we’ll give 10% of our sales to the VT Foodbank to help with their flood relief efforts.
